To provide a map information assessment device with which it is possible to detect a difference in position information between roads of a first map and roads of a second map.SOLUTION: A road section assessment device comprises: a correspondence unit for corresponding a second section that represents a second road included in a second map used for vehicle traveling to a plurality of first sections that represent a first road included in a first map with which a vehicle position is estimated, with a section having the same length, starting from a position on the second road that is nearest to the start point of the first section, as the first section in a direction heading from the start point to the end point of the first section as the second section corresponding to the first section; a distance calculation unit for calculating a section adjacent distance between the end point of the second section and the start point of an other second section adjacent to the second section; and a section assessment unit for assessing, when the section adjacent distance is larger than a threshold, that the position information of the first road included in the first section and the position information of the second road included in the second section corresponding to the first section are different.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2

    【課題】第1地図の道路と第2地図の道路の位置情報との相違を検出できる地図情報判定装置を提供する。【解決手段】道路区間判定装置は、車両の位置を推定する第1地図に含まれる第1道路を表す複数の第1区間に対して、車両の走行に用いられる第2地図に含まれる第2道路を表す第2区間を対応付ける対応付け部であって、第1区間の始点に最も距離の近い第2道路上の位置を始点として第1区間の始点から終点に向かう方向に第1区間と同じ長さを有する区間を第1区間と対応する第2区間として対応付ける対応付け部と、第2区間の終点と第2区間と隣接する他の第2区間の始点との間の区間隣接距離を算出する距離算出部と、区間隣接距離がしきい値より大きい場合、第1区間に含まれる第1道路の位置情報と、第1区間に対応する第2区間に含まれる第2道路の位置情報とは異なると判定する区間判定部とを有する。【選択図】図2
