To provide a road gradient estimation device with which it is possible to correctly estimate a gradient of a road.SOLUTION: There is provided a road gradient estimation device 1 comprising: a camera 2 for recognizing a distance to a target 9 assuming that the target 9 exists at a position not inclined with respect to a host vehicle 5; a lidar 3 for recognizing the distance to the target 9; a comparison unit 16 for comparing a camera recognized distance DC that is the distance to the target 9 having been recognized by the camera 2 with a lidar recognized distance DL that is the distance to the target 9 having been recognized by the lidar 3; and a road gradient estimation unit 17 for assessing that the target 9 exists at a position inclined with respect to the host vehicle 5 when a difference occurs between the camera recognized distance DC and the lidar recognized distance DL by the comparison unit 16, and estimating a longitudinal gradient of the road on the basis of the camera recognized distance DC and the lidar recognized distance DL.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
