To perform communication between in-vehicle devices while suppressing a processing load when communication protocols between the in-vehicle devices are different.SOLUTION: An in-vehicle repeater in an in-vehicle communication system with a plurality of in-vehicle devices includes a relay unit that relays communication data between the plurality of in-vehicle devices, and a processing unit that notifies each of the in-vehicle devices of a common protocol which is a common communication protocol to be used before starting communication between the in-vehicle devices.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
