To provide an occupant state detection system that optimizes an occupant monitoring method when a vehicle is in a running state and an occupant monitoring method when the vehicle is in a stopped state, and can always accurately detect the physical states of occupants.SOLUTION: An occupant state detection system 1 includes: an occupant monitoring device 10 that monitors a physical state of an occupant of a vehicle; an occupant state detection device 200 that detects the physical state of the occupant of the vehicle based on occupant monitoring information from the occupant monitoring device 10; and a discrimination device 100 that discriminates between a running state and a stopped state of the vehicle. The occupant state detection device 200 includes a processor 210, and a memory 220 communicably connected to the processor 210. An information receiving unit 211 of the processor 210 receives the occupant monitoring information, and discrimination information from the discrimination device 100, stores the received occupant monitoring information and discrimination information in the memory 220, assigns a monitoring part of the occupant of the vehicle monitored by the occupant monitoring device 10 based on the discrimination information, and detects the physical state of the occupant.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
