To provide a technology of making a driver know a position at which a driving mode should be switched in a manner easy to understand.SOLUTION: A vehicle 1000 can execute an automatic driving mode and a manual driving mode as a driving mode. An assistance device 100 supports mode switching from the automatic driving mode to the manual driving mode in the vehicle 1000. The assistance device 100 includes an acquisition unit 110 and a notification unit 130. The acquisition unit 110 acquires data indicating a situation around the vehicle 1000. The notification unit 130 communicates a candidate position derived based on the data acquired by the acquisition unit 110, the candidate position being a candidate of a position where the mode switching should be executed.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
