To provide an automatic operation control method and an automatic operation control device which can suppress a high-risk crossing behavior of another vehicle in an intersection area.SOLUTION: An automatic operation control method of controlling travelling of an own vehicle according to a peripheral situation comprises the steps of: detecting a vehicle intersection area on a travelling route of the own vehicle; performing an estimated crossover vehicle detection process for detecting an estimated crossover vehicle which might cross over the travelling route of the own vehicle in the vehicle intersection area; and performing, when detecting the estimated crossover vehicle, a crossover prevention process of moving the own vehicle to a prescribed target point, in which the target point is set to a position where the is no time to execute a crossing behavior of the estimated crossover vehicle based on detection timing of the estimated crossover vehicle and detection time.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2

    【課題】交差領域内において他車両の高リスクな交錯行動の実行を抑制することのできる自動運転制御方法及び自動運転制御装置を提供する。【解決手段】周辺状況に応じて自車両の走行を制御する自動運転制御方法であって、自車両の走行路上の車両交差領域を検出し、車両交差領域において自車両の走行路に交錯する可能性があると推定される推定交錯車両を検出するための推定交錯車両検出処理を実行し、推定交錯車両を検出すると、自車両を所定の目標地点に移動させる交錯防止処理を実行し、交錯防止処理では、推定交錯車両の検出タイミング及び検出位置に基づいて、目標地点を前記推定交錯車両による交錯行動の実行のための時間的猶予が無くなる位置に設定する。【選択図】図2
