To provide a crawler type working machine capable of inhibiting a temporary increase in a turning radius at least at one of time of switching from a slow turn mode into a pivotal turn mode and time of switching from the pivotal turn mode into the slow turn mode.SOLUTION: In a bulldozer 1, when switching from a slow turn mode to a pivotal turn mode, a controller 100 causes an inner steering clutch 40IN to maintain engagement for a predetermined period (t3-t1) from a switching start point t1 at which the switching is started, meanwhile, when switching from the pivotal turn mode to the slow turn mode, the controller causes an inner steering brake 50IN to maintain braking operation for a predetermined period (t13-t11) from a switching start point t11 at which the switching is started.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 4
