To provide a passenger approach detection system, which is relatively easily constructed, and a passenger approach detection method capable of efficiently detecting the approach of a passenger to a train when the train departs from a crowded station platform.SOLUTION: A passenger approach detection system 100 includes an imaging unit 11 which is installed to photograph the direction approximately parallel to a traveling direction of a train T and successively acquires images of the train T and a predetermined range w of a platform end part Ha, a determination unit 211 which analyzes the images of the train T successively acquired by the imaging unit 11 and determines whether the train T departs from a platform H and starts moving, and a detection unit 212 which, if the determination unit 211 determines that the train T departs from the platform H and starts moving, detects the existence of an approaching passenger positioned in the predetermined range w at the platform end part Ha from the images of the predetermined range w of the platform end part Ha acquired by the imaging unit 11 thereafter.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1

    【課題】システム構築が比較的簡易で、駅ホームが混雑する列車出発時に旅客の列車への接近を効率的に検出することができる旅客接近検知システム及び旅客接近検知方法を提供することを目的とする。【解決手段】旅客接近検知システム100は、列車Tの進行方向と略平行な方向の撮影が可能となるように設置され、列車Tおよびホーム縁端部Haの所定範囲wの画像を連続して取得する撮像部11と、撮像部11によって連続して取得された列車Tの画像を解析して、列車TがホームHを出発して移動を開始したかを判断する判断部211と、判断部211により列車TがホームHを出発して移動を開始したと判断された場合に、以後に撮像部11によって取得されたホーム縁端部Haの所定範囲wの画像からホーム縁端部Haの所定範囲wに位置する接近旅客の存在を検知する検知部212と、を備える。【選択図】図1
