To provide a brake control device of a vehicle capable of reducing possibility that deceleration of the vehicle due to an automatic brake function of ACC may exceed the prescribed limit value over prolonged period.SOLUTION: A brake control device of a vehicle comprises: a target brake torque setting parts (91, 101) which set target brake torque (T_out) on the basis of indication brake torque (T_req_in) which is set on the basis of target inter-vehicle distance between an own vehicle and a preceding vehicle; and control parts (93, 103) which control braking force of the vehicle on the basis of the target brake torque (T_out). The target brake torque setting parts (91, 101) set limit brake torque (T_lim) of a value smaller than the indication brake torque (T_req_in) to the target brake torque (T_out) when deceleration (Ax) of the own vehicle exceeds a prescribed limit value (Ax_lim).SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 5
