To provide an authentication system that simplifies registration work.SOLUTION: An authentication system comprises a plurality of NFC on-vehicle units 11, 12 which perform short-range radio communication as an NFC card 13 is put close, and then determine whether key information that the NFC card 13 has matches previously registered key information. Once key information of the NFC card 13 is registered as the NFC card 13 is put close, the NFC on-vehicle units 11, 12 include an NFC on-vehicle unit 11 as authentification on-vehicle units configured to register the key information in the other NFC on-vehicle unit 12.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
