To effectively improve the accuracy of the determination of the numbers of passengers in respective postures.SOLUTION: A passenger determination device for a vehicle includes: a first passenger number calculation unit 110 that calculates a first passenger number N1 in a vehicle based on the number of passengers who get in the vehicle from an entrance 2 and the number of passengers who get off the vehicle therefrom; a posture-based passenger number detection unit 120 that detects passenger numbers n1-n5 in respective postures, based on image data capturing images of the respective postures of the passengers; a second passenger number calculation unit 130 that calculates a second passenger number N2 in the vehicle by summing up the detected number of passengers in the respective postures; and a passenger number determination unit 140 that compares the first passenger number N1 and the second passenger number N2, uses a value detected by the posture-based passenger number detection unit 120 as the number of passengers in the respective postures when the first passenger number N1 and the second passenger number N2 match with each other, and causes the posture-based passenger number detection unit 120 to detect the passenger numbers n1-n5 in the respective postures again when the first passenger number N1 and the second passenger number N2 do not match with each other.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3
