To provide a tire design method and the like which can further reduce pitch noise.SOLUTION: There is provided a method for designing a tire provided with a tread pattern including a pattern row in which a pattern constitution unit is arrayed in a tire circumferential direction. The method comprises: a step S2 for setting plural types of tread patterns with different arrays of pattern constitution units; a step S3 of acquiring a first pulse train in which unit pulses are arranged with each pattern constitution unit as a unit pulse from the pattern row of the plural types of tread patterns; a step S4 of acquiring the first to k-th amplitude FAk obtained with Fourier transformation of the first pulse train; a step S5 of acquiring a second pulse train in which the unit pulses are arranged with each tread segment as a unit pulse; a step S6 of acquiring the first to k-th amplitude FBk obtained with Fourier transformation of the second pulse train; and a step S7 of determining the array of tread patterns with the smallest maximum value GmaxA of the first to k-th amplitude Gk of the plural types of tread patterns.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 4
