To provide a preload inspection method of a wheel bearing device capable of determining a preload more accurately.SOLUTION: A preload inspection method includes: a process S02 for press-fitting an inner ring 4 to a small-diameter step portion 3a; a process S03 for measuring a first inner ring height H1 after the process S02; a process S04 for calculating a first bearing preload value P1 on the basis of an axial negative clearance G1 after the process S03; a process S06 for measuring an after-press-fitting rotational torque Ta; a process S07 for caulking the small-diameter step portion to the inner ring; a process S08 for measuring a temperature ti0 of a caulking portion 3h after completion of the caulking process; a process S09 for measuring after-caulking rotational torque Tb; a process S10 for correcting the after-caulking rotational torque Tb on the basis of the temperature ti0 of the caulking portion 3h and calculating the corrected after-caulking rotational torque Tc; a process S11 for calculating a second bearing preload value P2 on the basis of differential torque ΔT2 between the after-press-fitting rotational torque and the corrected after-caulking rotational torque; and a process S12 for determining the second bearing preload value.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2

    【課題】予圧をより高精度に判定できる車輪用軸受装置の予圧検査方法を提供する。【解決手段】内輪4を小径段部3aに圧入する工程S02と、工程S02の後に第1の内輪高さH1を測定する工程S03と、工程S03の後に軸方向負隙間G1に基づき第1の軸受予圧値P1を算出する工程S04と、圧入後回転トルクTaを測定する工程S06と、小径段部を内輪に加締める工程S07と、加締加工完了後における加締部3hの温度ti0を測定する工程S08と、加締後回転トルクTbを測定する工程S09と、加締後回転トルクTbを加締部3hの温度ti0に基づいて補正して補正済加締後回転トルクTcを算出する工程S10と、圧入後回転トルクと補正済加締後回転トルクとの差分トルクΔT2に基づいて第2の軸受予圧値P2を算出する工程S11と、第2の軸受予圧値を判定する工程S12とを備える。【選択図】図2
