To prevent occurrence of appearance failure of a tire while securing a traveling performance.SOLUTION: A pneumatic tire 1 comprises: plural circumferential main grooves 30 formed on a tread 2 and extending in a tire circumferential direction; a rib 20 partitioned by the above groove 30 and having a ground plane 3 protruding outside a reference contour line PL of the tread 2 in a tire radial direction; and a sub groove 40 which is formed to the rib 20 extending to a tire width direction, and crosses with a largest protrusion R where the ground plane 3 projects most outward in a tire radial direction with respect to the reference counter line PL in the rib 20 or is located near the protrusion R. In the rib 20, a vent trace 50 which is the trace of a vent hole 150 of a tire molding mold 100 is formed within a range in which the distance from the largest protrusion R is 3 mm or less and the distance Dt from the sub groove 40 is also 3 mm or less.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 4
