To provide a heat exchanger suitably used as an outdoor heat exchanger of a heat pump type refrigeration cycle, and capable of suppressing increase of pressure loss and deterioration of heat exchange performance in cooling and heating operation.SOLUTION: An outdoor heat exchanger 4 of a heat pump type refrigeration cycle 1 has, in a heat exchange core part 32, a first heat exchange path P1 composed of first heat exchange pipes 33, and a second heat exchange path P2 that is composed of the first heat exchange pipes 33 and second heat exchange pipes 34 and is provided on the downstream side of the first heat exchange path P1 in a refrigerant flow direction. The passage cross-sectional areas of all the first heat exchange pipes 33 are the same. The passage cross-sectional areas of all the second heat exchange pipes 34 are the same and larger than the passage cross-sectional areas of the first heat exchange pipes 33. In the second heat exchange path P2, the plurality of first heat exchange pipes 33 is arranged on the first heat exchange path P1 side, and the plurality of second heat exchange pipes 34 is arranged in the remaining portion.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
