To appropriately control the rotation of a cooling fan in a charging mode, taking into account the drive state of a drive system, and obtain the effect according to the drive state of the drive system.SOLUTION: An electric construction machine comprises a drive system that drives the machine by electric power, a heat exchange device that exchanges heat of a cooling medium to cool the drive system, a cooling fan that sends air to cool the heat exchange device, and a cooling fan control unit that controls the rotation of the cooling fan according to a set operation mode. The operation modes include a drive mode in which the drive system is driven and a charging mode in which the drive of the drive system is stopped and the battery that stores electric power is charged. The cooling fan control unit sets the rotation speed of the cooling fan in the charging mode to the charging mode rotation speed corresponding to the driving state of the drive system.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 10
