To provide an electric power assist bicycle which allows a user who walks while pushing the bicycle or supports the bicycle beside the bicycle to walk easily when the user walks while pushing the bicycle by outputting auxiliary power generated by a motor to a wheel side or when a self-propelled mode is executed.SOLUTION: An electric power assist bicycle can execute a self-propelled mode or allows a user to walk while pushing the bicycle in such a manner that a rotation force of a crank shaft, which is rotated by a human power driving force generated by a stepping force of a left pedal 8a and a right pedal is transmitted to wheel sides through a one-way clutch and auxiliary power generated by a motor is output to the wheel sides. A weight of a left pedal side member, which is connected to a left side of the crank shaft and includes the left pedal 8a, is different from a weight of a right pedal side member, which is connected to a right side of the crank shaft and includes the right pedal.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 7
