To provide a suction traveling device capable of maintaining stable adsorption force.SOLUTION: A suction traveling device 1 includes: a main pressure reducing chamber 32; sub pressure reducing chambers 33 communicating with the main pressure reducing chamber 32 and respectively disposed in a first drive unit 1 and a second drive unit 3; a plurality of ventilation holes 35 placed on a placed side of suction holes 21 of the sub pressure reducing chamber 33 and respectively communicating the sub pressure reducing chambers 33 and the plurality of suction holes 21; and open/close means 55 for releasing and closing each of the plurality of ventilation holes 35, where the open/close means 55 releases the ventilation holes 35 when pressure in a plurality of suction chambers 47 formed by a wall surface W and the suction holes 21 is equal to pressure in the sub pressure reducing chamber 33 and closes the ventilation holes 35 when the pressure in the suction chambers 47 is higher than the pressure in the sub pressure reducing chamber 33. When the ventilation hole 35 is closed, a gap 70 is formed in the ventilation hole 35, where the gap has the size such that the pressure in the sub pressure reducing chambers 33 does not affect the pressure in the other suction chambers 47.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1

    【課題】安定した吸着力を維持できる吸着走行装置を提供する。【解決手段】メイン減圧室32と、メイン減圧室32に連通し第1駆動部2および第2駆動部3それぞれに配置されるサブ減圧室33と、サブ減圧室33の吸着孔21の配置側に設けられ、サブ減圧室33と複数の吸着孔21の各々を連通する複数の通気孔35と、複数の通気孔35の各々を解放したり閉鎖したりする開閉手段55と、を有し、開閉手段55は、壁面Wと吸着孔21で形成される複数の吸着室47の気圧がサブ減圧室33の気圧と同じであるときに通気孔35を解放し、吸着室47の気圧がサブ減圧室33の気圧よりも高くなるときに通気孔35を閉鎖する。通気孔35を閉鎖した際に、通気孔35にはサブ減圧室33の気圧が他の吸着室47の気圧に影響しない程度の大きさの隙間70が形成されることを特徴とする吸着走行装置1【選択図】図1
