To inhibit an operator from being compressed by a handle rod during backward movement of a walking-type work machine.SOLUTION: An inclination detection mechanism 22, which is provided ahead of (on the +X side of) wheels 16A and 16B of a vehicle body 10, has a deformation part 46 which is brought into contact with a surface (ground surface) brought into contact with the wheels 16A and 16B when the vehicle body 10 is tilted forward and which is transited to a deformed state when subjected to a prescribed force or above from the ground surface. A switch 48 forcedly stops rotation of the wheels 16A and 16B by an engine 20, in conjunction with the transition of the deformation part 46 to the deformed state.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 7

    【課題】歩行型作業機において、後進時において作業者がハンドル杆によって挟圧されるのを抑制する。【解決手段】傾斜検出機構22は、車体10の車輪16A、16Bよりも前方(+X側)に設けられ、車体10が前傾したときに車輪16A,16Bが接している面(地面)と接触し、地面から所定以上の力を受けたときに変形状態に遷移する変形部46を有している。そして、スイッチ48は、変形部46が変形状態に遷移したことと連動して、発動機20による車輪16A、16Bの回転を強制的に停止させる。【選択図】図7
