To improve object recognition accuracy, by performing object recognition on the basis of properties unique to an object in which an unexpected event hardly occurs.SOLUTION: An object recognition device 20 for an advanced driving support system 1 comprises: a processing part for processing input data; and a storage part for storing in advance, reference data. The reference data indicates correspondence among a kind of an object, an object length, and a reference object ratio indicating a ratio at which lengths of a plurality of parts forming the object occupy with respect to the object length. The processing part identifies, on the basis of the input data, a region occupied by the object in a virtual space defined by an actual spatial coordinate system, as a virtual object, then acquires the reference object ratio corresponding to a length of the virtual object being whole length of the virtual object, from the reference data, as a reference ratio, and extracts a plurality of regions having different properties from a region included in the same virtual object, as virtual parts, then, calculates a ratio at which lengths of the plurality of virtual parts occupy with respect to the length of the virtual object, as a virtual object ratio, and then collates the virtual object ratio with the reference ratio, for determining the kind of the object adapted for the virtual object.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
【課題】想定外の事象が生じにくい物体固有の特徴に基づいて物体認識を行い物体認識精度を向上する。【解決手段】先進運転支援システム1の物体認識装置20は、入力データを処理する処理部と、参照データを予め記憶する記憶部とを備える。参照データは、物体種別と、物体長と、物体を構成する複数の部位の長さが物体長に対して占める割合を示す標準物体比率との対応関係を示す。処理部は、入力データに基づいて、実空間座標系で定義された仮想空間において物体が占有する領域を仮想物体として特定し、仮想物体の全長である仮想物体長に対応する標準物体比率を参照比率として参照データから取得し、同一の仮想物体に含まれる領域から異なる特徴を有する複数の領域を仮想部位として抽出し、複数の仮想部位の長さが仮想物体長に対して占める割合を仮想物体比率として算出し、仮想物体比率と参照比率とを照合することで、仮想物体に適合する物体種別を判別する。【選択図】図1
