To provide a vehicle battery mounting structure which easily positions a battery on a center tunnel without increasing the number of components, and to provide a battery mounting method.SOLUTION: A vehicle battery mounting structure includes: a center tunnel 20 which is formed on a floor panel 11 so as to extend in an anteroposterior direction; a battery 40 which is disposed above the center tunnel 20; and a frame member 31 which holds the battery 40 and is fixed to the center tunnel 20. The vehicle battery mounting structure includes: a restriction part 21 which is provided on an upper surface 20a of the center tunnel 20 and restricts movement of the frame member 31 in the anteroposterior direction; a fitting part 22 which is provided on the upper surface 20a of the center tunnel 20 at a position spaced apart from the restriction part 21; and a fitted part 36 which is provided on a lower surface 31a of the frame member 31 and is fitted in the fitting part 22.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
