To provide a side sill reinforcement member, side sill, and side sill manufacturing method capable of effectively absorbing impact energy in the case of a side impact.SOLUTION: A side sill reinforcement member includes a reinforcement member body made of aluminum, and a joint member made of a steel and intended to join the reinforcement member body to a support member through spot welding. The reinforcement member body has plural closed section structures juxtaposed in a vehicle width direction. The closed section structures are joined closed-section structures to be joined to the support member via the joint member. The joined closed-section structure has an upper wall and lower wall. One of the upper wall and lower wall has a joined region, and the other one has an insertion hole formation region. The joined region is caulked and fixed when the steel joint member pierces the joined region. An insertion hole is formed in the insertion hole formation region. The insertion hole is disposed at a position where a spot welding electrode terminal is permitted to reach the joined region when inserted, and has a size allowing the spot welding electrode terminal to be inserted.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
【課題】側面衝突時の衝撃エネルギーを有効に吸収することが可能なサイドシル用補強部材、サイドシル及びサイドシルの製造方法を提供する。【解決手段】サイドシル用補強部材はアルミニウム製の補強部材本体と、補強部材本体をスポット溶接によって支持部材に接合するための鋼製の接合部材を備える。補強部材本体は車幅方向に並ぶ複数の閉断面構造を有する。複数の閉断面構造は接合部材を介して支持部材に接合される被接合閉断面構造を有する。被接合閉断面構造は上壁部と下壁部とを有する。上壁部及び下壁部のうちの一方は被接合部位を有し、他方は挿通穴形成部位を有する。被接合部位には鋼製の接合部材が貫通することによってかしめられて留められる。挿通穴形成部位には挿通穴が形成される。挿通穴はスポット溶接用電極端子が挿通されることによって被接合部位に到達することを許容する位置に配置され、スポット溶接用電極端子が挿通可能な大きさを有する。【選択図】図1
