To provide an impact absorption mechanism which can absorb an impact preferably at low costs.SOLUTION: An impact absorption mechanism 5 is to ease an impact load A applied to a vehicle and includes: an impact absorption part 7 made of wood; and a restrain material 9 having restraint parts 91 which are disposed so as to sandwich the impact absorption part 7 therein in a first direction orthogonal to a load input direction of the impact load A. Projection parts 92 protruding from the impact absorption part 7 to the load input side are respectively provided at load input side end parts of the restraint parts 91.
