To provide an occupant monitoring device that can detect a visual line of an occupant even when a luminous intensity of background light varies.SOLUTION: An occupant monitoring device includes: an irradiation unit 21 for irradiating, toward a face of an occupant boarding on a vehicle, either an infrared ray with a first wavelength or an infrared ray with a second wavelength that is shorter than the first wavelength; an imaging unit 1 for imaging the face of the occupant; and a microcomputer 4 for detecting a visual line of the occupant using an image captured by the imaging unit 1. The microcomputer 4 switches wavelengths of the infrared ray to be radiated toward the face of the occupant by the irradiation unit 21 on the basis of a luminous intensity in an outside of the vehicle.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1

    【課題】背景光の照度が変化しても乗員の視線を検出できる乗員監視装置を提供する。【解決手段】照射部21は、第1の波長の赤外線、又は第1の波長より短い第2の波長の赤外線のいずれか一方を、車両に搭乗している乗員の顔に向けて照射する。撮像部1は、乗員の顔を撮像する。マイコン4は、撮像部1により撮像された画像を用いて乗員の視線を検出する。また、マイコン4は、車外の照度に基づいて、照射部21が乗員の顔に向けて照射する赤外線の波長を切り替える。【選択図】図1
