To provide a traffic condition prediction system that can predict a road traffic condition with high accuracy in a future even if the number of vehicle detection devices which measure the number of passing vehicles is small.SOLUTION: A traffic condition prediction system comprises a traffic condition estimation unit, an inflow traffic volume prediction unit, a reference cumulative traffic volume prediction unit, a most downstream pseudo cumulative traffic volume prediction unit and a traffic condition prediction unit. The traffic condition estimation unit estimates a traffic condition of a road. The inflow traffic volume prediction unit predicts an inflow volume of vehicles flowing into a reference point. The reference cumulative traffic volume estimation unit acquires a reference cumulative traffic volume estimation value at the most upstream reference point of an estimation target range for predicting a road traffic volume based on the traffic condition estimation result and the vehicle inflow volume prediction result. The most downstream pseudo cumulative traffic volume estimation unit predicts the most downstream pseudo cumulative traffic volume estimation value at the most downstream point of a prediction target range based on the reference cumulative traffic volume estimation value. The traffic condition prediction unit predicts a traffic condition of a road based on the reference cumulative traffic volume prediction value and the most downstream pseudo cumulative traffic volume prediction value.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2

    【課題】車両の通過台数を計測する車両検知装置の数が少なくても、道路の交通状況を将来に亘り高精度で予測できる交通状況予測システムを提供する。【解決手段】交通状況予測システムは、交通状況推定部と、流入交通量予測部と、基準累積交通量予測部と、最下流疑似累積交通量予測部と、交通状況予測部と、を備える。交通状況推定部は、道路の交通状況を推定する。流入交通量予測部は、基準地点に流入する車両流入量を予測する。基準累積交通量予測部は、交通状況の推定結果と、車両の流入量予測結果とに基づき、道路の交通量を予測する予測対象範囲の最上流の基準地点における基準累積交通量予測値を取得する。最下流疑似累積交通量予測部は、基準累積交通量予測値に基づき、予測対象範囲の最下流地点における最下流疑似累積交通量予測値を予測する。交通状況予測部は、基準累積交通量予測値と、最下流疑似累積交通量予測値とに基づき、道路の交通状況を予測する。【選択図】図2
