To provide a cylindrical-shape fiber-reinforced resin composite material formed by winding a fiber-reinforced resin or a fiber-reinforced resin sheet around a core member, capable of obtaining proper strength characteristics to tensile stress or compression stress acting on each side face when a vehicle collides.SOLUTION: A cylindrical-shape fiber-reinforced resin composite material which is applied to a vehicle body structure and which has a lengthwise direction includes: first fibers placed along the axial direction of the cylindrical shape; and second fibers wound across the entire circumference along the direction intersecting with the axial direction of the cylindrical shape. The number of first fibers per unit area in a tensile surface that mainly receives tensile stress when a vehicle collides is larger than the number of first fibers per unit area in a compression surface that mainly receives compression stress when the vehicle collides.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 4
