To provide a distance measuring device that achieves accurate distance measurement even with a configuration that uses a VCO direct modulation system for a transmitting unit and a SH system for a receiving unit.SOLUTION: According to an embodiment, a device 1 is provided with a first reference signal source OSC1, a first transceiver that uses output from the first reference signal source to transmit two or more first carrier signals and receive two or more second carrier signals, and a calculation unit, and a device 2 is provided with a second reference signal source OSC2 that operates independent of the first reference signal source, and a transceiver that uses output from the second reference signal source to transmit two or more second carrier signals and receive two or more first carrier signals. A frequency group of the two or more first carrier signals and a frequency group of the two or more second carrier signals are the same or substantially the same as each other. The calculation unit calculates the distance between the device 1 and the device 2 based on a phase detection result obtained through the reception of the first and second carrier signals.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 9
