To narrow a cable connected to an underwater probe.SOLUTION: An underwater probe system includes an underwater probe, a controller, and cables. The underwater probe includes: a probe communication unit for communicating with the controller by metal communication method; a stabilization power source unit for stabilizing power supply; a drive unit for moving the underwater probe; an information collection unit for collecting information; and a controller for controlling the drive unit and the information collection unit. Cables include a communication metal wire for metal communication method and a power supply metal wire for supplying power. The controller includes: a control communication unit for communicating with the underwater probe by metal communication method; a power supply unit for supplying power to the underwater probe; and an operation unit for carrying out input of instruction to the underwater probe and output of information from the underwater probe.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
