To provide an overhead power line connection type power reception apparatus enabling an electric vehicle to safely receive electric power from an overhead power line (feed line) aerially built above an operator for power reception.SOLUTION: An overhead power line connection type power reception apparatus receives electric power from an overhead power line aerially built above an operator for power reception and supplies the electric power to a drive battery mounted to an electric vehicle. The overhead power line connection type power reception apparatus includes: rods each installed on a roof of the electric vehicle, extended toward the overhead power line and comprising an electrically insulating material; electrode terminals each installed at a tip of the rod and connected to enable reception of electric power from the overhead power line; and cables each having one end connected to the electrode terminal and the other end passing through a region on the base end side of the rod and connected to the drive battery and covered with an electrically insulating material.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
