To provide a surroundings monitoring device for work machines that can allow workers to easily determine contact between a revolving superstructure and obstacles when an undercarriage travels.SOLUTION: The surroundings monitoring device for work machines comprises: an advance direction detection device that detects an advance direction of an undercarriage; a revolving angle detection device that detects a revolving angle of a revolving superstructure with respect to the undercarriage; an imaging device that is provided on the revolving superstructure and images surroundings of the revolving superstructure; a display 5 that is provided in an operator cab; display control means that displays an image captured by the imaging device on the display 5; and rear end trajectory calculation means that calculates an expected movement trajectory of a rear end of the revolving superstructure as a rear end trajectory 11 based on the advance direction of the undercarriage detected by the advance direction detection device and the revolving angle of the revolving superstructure detected by the revolving angle detection device when the undercarriage travels.
