To provide a brake device that generates brake force for a vehicle by generating an eddy current in a conductor, the brake device being designed to enable easy simplification of an exciting circuit and a cost reduction.SOLUTION: A brake device has an armature unit AP1, a capacitor CP1, a DC power supply PS, and a connection switch unit CS. The connection switch unit CS switches connection among the armature unit AP1, the capacitor CP1, and the DC power supply PS. Thereby, after a DC voltage V1 is applied between both ends of the capacitor CP1 by the DC power supply PS to charge the capacitor CP1, a resonance circuit RC is formed by the armature unit AP1 and the capacitor CP1, and a resonance current is caused to flow in the armature unit AP1 to generate an AC magnetic field and to generate eddy current in a conductor.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 4

    【課題】導体内に渦電流を発生させることにより車両の制動力を発生させる制動装置において、励磁回路を容易に簡素化し、低コスト化することができる制動装置を提供する。【解決手段】制動装置は、電機子部AP1と、コンデンサCP1と、直流電源PSと、接続切替部CSと、を有する。接続切替部CSは、電機子部AP1とコンデンサCP1と直流電源PSとの間の接続を切り替えることにより、直流電源PSによりコンデンサCP1の両端間に直流電圧V1を印加してコンデンサCP1を充電した後、電機子部AP1とコンデンサCP1とにより共振回路RCを形成し、電機子部AP1に共振電流を通流して交流磁界を発生させるとともに導体内に渦電流を発生させる。【選択図】図4
