To provide a tension overload prevention device and a crane that can effectively prevent tension overload with a simple structure.SOLUTION: There are included a first member 16 and a second member 17 which are disposed opposite each other with respect to a rope 14 and to which the rope 14 is stretched therebetween, an elastic body 20 that pushes the second member 17 towards the rope 14, and displacement detection mechanisms 21, 22 which detect the displacement of the second member 17 in the counter force direction.
