To appropriately control an inter-vehicular distance in consideration of a balance between calorific power of a power source and a radiation amount of a heat sink.SOLUTION: A vehicular speed control apparatus includes: a detection part for detecting an inter-vehicular distance L between a vehicle itself VC2 and a preceding vehicle VC1 traveling ahead thereof; and a control part for controlling a vehicular speed of the vehicle itself so that the inter-vehicular distance detected by the detection part approaches a predetermined target inter-vehicular distance. The control part performs: calculating calorific power of a power source 1 and a radiation amount of a heat sink in the vehicle itself; and changing the target inter-vehicular distance on the basis of a difference between the calculated calorific power and radiation amount.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
