To suppress deterioration of passenger convenience while assuring passenger safety when an autonomously travelling vehicle breaks down.SOLUTION: A vehicle control device comprises a failure detection part for detection vehicle failure, and a vehicle control part for controlling a vehicle. When failure of on vehicle components other than the vehicle control device is detected by the failure detection part, the vehicle control part changes vehicle control according to a failure level, warns to the exterior of the vehicle when the vehicle is immovable (S102 No), and stops the vehicle at a stoppable position when the vehicle is movable, but cannot arrive at a destination by autonomous travel (S104 No).SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 5

    【課題】自律走行する車両が故障した場合に、乗客の安全を確保しつつ、乗客の利便性の低下を抑制する。【解決手段】車両の制御装置は、車両の故障を検出する故障検出部と、車両を制御する車両制御部とを備える。車両制御部は、故障検出部によって車両の制御装置以外の車載部品の故障が検出された場合、故障レベルに応じて車両の制御を変更し、車両が移動不可能である場合S102No、車両の外部に警告し、また、車両が移動可能であるが自律走行によって目的地に到達不可能である場合S104No、車両を停車可能な位置に停止させる。【選択図】図5
