To provide an operation mode control device enabling to improve a traveling performance and fuel consumption of a movable body capable of performing hybrid traveling, and to prolong the service life of a battery mounted on the movable body.SOLUTION: The operation mode control device for controlling an operation mode of a movable body, includes: a battery having a residual capacity-output characteristic including a minimum value and a maximum value on a side of a lower residual capacity than the minimum value; a motor operable by electric power supplied from the battery; and an engine. The operation mode control device is configured to be capable of controlling switching between a first mode in which the movable body is operated only by power of the motor, and a second mode in which the movable body is operated both by the power of the motor and power of the engine. The operation mode is controlled to have an operation region where the movable body is operated with the second mode when output is on the side of the lower residual capacity than the minimum value.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 4
