To provide a control device that can suppress heat generation due to an excess current when a fault such as short circuit or ground fault occurs in a voltage impression system including a booster circuit for generating a boost voltage to be impressed to an electrorheological fluid, in a vehicular operative mechanism such as a damper that uses an electrorheological fluid as a working fluid.SOLUTION: A control device includes: a fault detection unit for detecting whether a voltage impression system including a booster circuit has a fault; and a boost stopping unit for controlling an energization controller installed to the voltage impression system to stop the booster circuit boosting when a fault occurs in the voltage impression system.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3
