To provide a hat-shaped member which increases strength against force acting vertically on a top surface part while maintaining bondability with a peripheral member, and a method of manufacturing the hat-shaped member.SOLUTION: A hat-shaped member 1 has a pair of vertical wall parts 10, a top surface part 20, a pair of flange parts 30, and a pair of upper side corner parts 40 connecting the pair of vertical wall parts 10 to the top surface part 20 respectively. The hat-shaped member 1 has a first hat part 100 and a second hat part 200 arranged along a lengthwise direction L. A first top surface part of the first hat part 100 is equal in height to the pair of first upper side corner parts. A second top surface part of the second hat part 200 has a reduced top surface part which extends along a width direction W at a position lower than the pair of upper side corner parts, and an extension part which extends from the pair of upper side corner parts to the reduced top surface part respectively.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1

    【課題】周辺部材との接合性を維持しつつも、天面部に対して垂直方向に働く力に対する強度を向上させるハット型部材及びハット型部材の製造方法を提供する。【解決手段】ハット型部材1は、一対の縦壁部10と、天面部20と、一対のフランジ部30と、一対の縦壁部10のそれぞれと天面部20とを繋ぐ一対の上側隅部40と、を有する。ハット型部材1は、長手方向Lに沿って配置される第1ハット部100と第2ハット部200とを有する。第1ハット部100の第1天面部の高さは、一対の第1上側隅部の高さと同じである。第2ハット部200の第2天面部は、一対の上側隅部よりも低い位置で幅方向Wに延びる縮小天面部と、一対の上側隅部のそれぞれから縮小天面部まで延びる延長部と、を有する。【選択図】図1
