To ensure that, when displaying a virtual image that emphasizes an object in the foreground of a vehicle by superimposition using a head-up display, the misrecognition of the object by a driver and the driver's sense of uncertainty are reduced.SOLUTION: Provided is a HCU 20 for controlling a HUD 230, comprising: a distance azimuth acquisition unit 201 for acquiring the distance and azimuth to an object relative to the host vehicle that is detected by a millimeter wave radar 42; a high accuracy map acquisition unit 203 for acquiring a high accuracy map that includes information pertaining to heights per point; a three-dimensional position specification unit 204 for specifying the three-dimensional position of an object relative to the host vehicle using the distance and azimuth acquired by the distance azimuth acquisition unit 201 and the high accuracy map acquired by the high accuracy map acquisition unit 203; and a display generation unit 207 for displaying a virtual image that emphasizes the object by superimposition in conformity to the three-dimensional position specified by the three-dimensional position specification unit 204.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3
