To provide a collector current monitoring device which can accurately detect a situation that an arc is liable to be generated.SOLUTION: A collector current monitoring device 1 comprises: a current value acquisition unit 13 for acquiring a current value I1 and a current value I2; a first RMS calculation unit 15 for calculating a root mean square RMS1; a second RMS calculation unit 17 for calculating a root mean square RMS2; an unbalance current calculation unit 19 for calculating an unbalance current Iu being a difference between the root means square RMS1 and the root means square RMS2; a change amount calculation unit 21 for calculating a change amount ΔIu being a change amount of the unbalance current Iu; a change amount average value calculation unit 23 for calculating a time average value aveΔIu being a time average value of an absolute value of the change amount ΔIu; a determination unit 125 for determining whether or not the time average value aveΔIu is larger than a threshold; and an abnormality occurrence signal output unit 27 for outputting an abnormality occurrence signal when the time average value is larger than the threshold.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 6
