To provide a wiper device that performs control for moving, when an actual reversing position is deviated from a predetermined target reversing position, the actual reversing position to become closer to the target reversing position, and a controlling method of the wiper device.SOLUTION: A micro computer 58 comprises: a controller 58A for outputting a control signal of a driving circuit 56; an estimation function 58B for calculating an ideal rotation angle and an ideal rotation angular velocity based on the control signal; a correction function part 58C for calculating a correction value for the control signal on the basis of a deviation between the ideal rotation angle and an actual rotation angle of an output shaft 32 of a wiper motor 18 detected by a rotation angle sensor 54, or a deviation between the ideal rotation angular velocity and the actual rotation angular velocity which is a differential value of the actual rotation angle.
