To provide a vehicular steering device and belt tension adjustment method that make it easy to adjust belt tension.SOLUTION: In a vehicular steering device, a projection 50 is provided on an internal wall surface of a housing 16, the projection being located between a drive pulley 41 and a follower pulley 42 in a radial direction orthogonal to an axial line m1 of a rack shaft 12 and projecting up to a position overlapping the drive pulley 41 in the axial direction of the rack shaft 12. A toothed belt 43 is wound around the drive pulley 41 and the follower pullet 42. An inter-axial distance between the axis m2 of the drive pulley 41 and the axis m1 of the follower pulley 42 is lengthened from the position where the drive pulley 41 abuts on the projection 50. Thereby, a motor 20 is fixed in position so as not to move relative to the housing 16 while the toothed belt 43 has regulated tension.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3
