To provide a portable battery charger capable of suppressing a load acting on a terminal of a charger as much as possible, when attaching a portable battery to the charger.SOLUTION: A charger 1 of a battery 10 comprises: a battery placing part 30 capable of placing the battery 10 from above; a charger terminal 40 engaged with a battery terminal 14 provided in the battery 10, situated at a retreat position in a state where the battery 10 is not placed in the battery placing part 30, and capable of moving to an engaging position engaged with the battery terminal 14 above the retreat position from the retreat position in a state where the battery 10 is placed in the battery placing part 30; and an operation part 50 for moving the charger terminal 40 to the engaging position from the retreat position.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3
