To compose an azimuth direction control system based on ship motion information which has a frequency response characteristic from an actual steering angle obtained under all conditions such as a ship speed change and so on to an actual yaw rate, and to acquire an azimuth direction control device of a ship and an azimuth direction control method which does not promote vibration excited by disturbance factors to the ship such as tidal current or wind and so on.SOLUTION: An azimuth direction control device of a ship sails a ship equipped with an outboard engine in the desired direction, and comprises: an azimuth direction generator which outputs an azimuth direction command; and a controller which outputs a steering angle command based on the azimuth direction command by this azimuth direction generator, sensor group information from a sensor group, and ship motion characteristic information from a ship motion characteristic information storage part.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
