To provide a forward monitoring device which surely detects a remote obstacle and obstacles arranged in a wide range and is planned to be miniaturized.SOLUTION: An obstacle collision avoidance device comprises: a speed and position detection part 31 of a forward monitoring device 41 which is mounted on a train and detects the speed and travel position of the train; and an indispensable area setting part 52 which three-dimensionally monitors a monitoring area set based on route information corresponding to the speed information and the train travel position; a viewing angle setting part 53 which sets a viewing angle of a stereoscopic camera 21 in such a way that a picture corresponding to whole monitoring area occupies equal to or more than a prescribed size in the imaged picture based on the shape and size of the monitoring area cross section. The obstacle collision avoidance system further comprises: a picture acquisition part 55 which acquires a forward picture of the train from the stereoscopic camera 21; and an obstacle detection part 57 which judges whether there is an obstacle in the monitoring area based on the acquired picture. An obstacle judgement result is output to a brake command calculation part 42 and a notification device 20 as a forward monitoring information.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2

    【課題】遠方の支障物及び広範囲にわたる支障物を確実に検出するとともに、小型化を図った前方監視装置を提供する。【解決手段】支障物衝突回避装置において、列車に搭載された前方監視装置41の速度位置検出部31は、列車の速度及び走行位置を検出し、必須領域設定部52は、速度情報と列車の走行位置に対応する路線情報に基づいて設定された監視領域を立体的に監視する。画角設定部53は、監視領域断面の形状と大きさに基づいて、監視領域の全てに対応する画像が撮像画像中において所定の大きさ以上となる様、ステレオカメラ21の画角を設定する。画像取得部55は、ステレオカメラ21から列車の前方の画像を取得し、支障物検出部57は、取得した画像に基づいて監視領域内の支障物の有無を判定する。支障物判定結果は、前方監視情報としてブレーキ指令算出部42及び通知装置20に出力される。【選択図】図2
