To provide an assisting force calculation method for an electrically assisting bicycle, by which preferable assisting force can be obtained according to a plurality of different scenes through a simple control method.SOLUTION: A calculation method for assisting force E for an electrically assisting bicycle 1 comprises: acquiring from a pedal sensor 57 an instantaneous pedaling force A input to a pedal; acquiring a crank advanced angle ω of a crank shaft 41 from an advanced angle sensor 56 whose resolution power is less than 90°; and determining the assisting force E on the basis of at least the instantaneous pedaling force A and crank advanced angle ω.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3
