To improve accuracy of diagnosing the presence/absence of abnormality occurring in a battery pack module.SOLUTION: A secondary battery system 1A comprises a battery pack 10 that is charged by plug-in charge control. The battery pack 10 includes a plurality of modules 11-1M that are connected in series. Each of the plurality of modules 11-1M includes a plurality of cells connected in parallel each other. An ECU 100 determines that, when a first and second conditions are established, there is occurrence of abnormality that the current path of a cell included in one of the modules is cut off. The first condition refers to that a voltage difference between a maximum voltage Vmax and a minimum voltage Vmin among a plurality of voltage values detected by each of a plurality of voltage sensors 211-211M before plug-in charge control is executed is less than a reference value REF. The second condition refers to that a voltage difference between the maximum voltage Vmax and the minimum voltage Vmin after the plug-in charge control is executed is greater than or equal to the reference value REF.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 4
