To provide a method and a device enabling load acting on a tire to be estimated with high accuracy using a small number of sensors.SOLUTION: A tire load estimation device 10 is comprised of: acceleration sensors 11 arranged in each tire; vehicle total weight calculation means 12; acceleration waveform extraction means 13 detecting an acceleration waveform in a tire radial direction from output of the acceleration sensor 11;, differential acceleration waveform calculation means 14 obtaining a differential acceleration waveform of the acceleration waveform; peak position detection means 15 detecting peak positions in a step-in end side and a kick-out end side of the differential acceleration waveform; ground-contacting time ratio calculation means 16 for calculating a ground-contacting time and a rotation time from the peak positions and calculating a ground-contacting time ratio which is a ratio between the ground-contacting time and the rotation time; and load estimation means 17 estimating a load acting on a tire on the basis of the ground-contacting time ratio of each tire, the maximum load capacity of the tire, the vehicle total weight, and an inclination in which a predetermined maximum load capacity ratio which is a value obtained by normalizing a load by the maximum load capacity is approximated to a primary function of the ground-contacting time ratio.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1

    【課題】少ないセンサでタイヤに作用する荷重を精度よく推定できる方法とその装置を提供する。【解決手段】タイヤ荷重推定装置10を、各タイヤに配置される加速度センサー11と、車両総重量算出手段12と、加速度センサー11の出力からタイヤ径方向加速度波形を検出する加速度波形抽出手段13と、加速度波形の微分加速度波形を求める微分加速度波形演算手段14と、微分加速度波形の踏み込み端側と蹴り出し端側のピーク位置を検出するピーク位置検出手段15と、ピーク位置から接地時間と回転時間と算出して、接地時間と回転時間との比である接地時間比を演算する接地時間比演算手段16と、各タイヤの接地時間比、タイヤの最大負荷能力、車両総重量、及び、予め求めておいた、荷重を最大負荷能力で正規化した値である最大負荷能力比率を接地時間比の一次関数で近似したときの傾きから、タイヤに作用する荷重を推定する荷重推定手段17とから構成した。【選択図】図1
