To suppress useless power consumption in a short-range radio communication system including multiple short-range radio communication devices mounted on a vehicle.SOLUTION: A short-range radio communication system includes one master unit 1 and multiple slave units 2a-2c as short-range radio communication devices for performing radio communication by being communicatively connected to a registered portable terminal positioned in a communication range. The master unit 1 includes: a portable terminal detection section 13 for detecting the registered portable terminal 3; and a slave unit start control section 14 for performing control to start the slave units 2a-2c on the basis of detection of the portable terminal 3 in the portable terminal detection section 13. The slave units 2a-2c are stopped till being started by the slave unit start control section 14 of the master unit 1 and are started when being started by the slave unit start control section 14 of the master unit 1.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2

    【課題】車両に搭載された複数台の近距離無線通信装置を含む近距離無線通信システムにおいて、無駄な消費電力を抑制する。【解決手段】通信範囲に位置する登録済みの携帯端末と通信接続して無線通信を行う近距離無線通信装置として、1台の親機1と、複数台の子機2a〜2cとを含み、親機1は、登録済みの携帯端末3を検知する携帯端末検知部13と、携帯端末検知部13で携帯端末3を検知したことをもとに子機2a〜2cを起動させる制御を行う子機起動制御部14とを備え、子機2a〜2cは、親機1の子機起動制御部14によって起動されるまでは停止している一方、親機1の子機起動制御部14によって起動された場合に起動する。【選択図】図2
