To increase thermal insulation efficiency at the front side of an engine, reduce costs and weight, and provide an effective encapsulation from the upper side to the front side of the engine with a shroud including an upper cover and a grill shutter.SOLUTION: A thermal insulation structure of an engine includes an upper cover 22 adapted to cover at least the upper side of the engine. A shroud 30 is provided at the front side of the engine. The shroud 30 is configured in a frame shape having an opening 35. A front end 22f of the upper cover 22 is mounted on an upper rim 31U of the shroud 30, and the opening 35 is opened and closed in accordance with driving conditions of a vehicle. The shroud 30 includes a grill shutter 41 configured to be closed when an ignition is turned off.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1

    【課題】エンジンの前方における保温効率を高めつつ、低コスト化・低重量化を図り、上蓋部と、グリルシャッタを備えたシュラウドとでエンジンの上方から前方にかけて効率的なカプセル化を可能とすること。【解決手段】エンジンの少なくとも上方を覆う上蓋部22を備えるとともに、エンジンの前方にシュラウド30が配設されたエンジンの保温構造であって、シュラウド30を、開口部35を有する枠状に構成し、上蓋部22の前端22fがシュラウド30の上辺31Uに載置されており、開口部35を車両の運転状態に応じて開閉するとともに、IGオフ時には閉とするグリルシャッタ41をシュラウド30に備えた。【選択図】図1
