To prevent an occupant protection device from being erroneously activated.SOLUTION: A collision detector comprises: an activation determination section; an acquisition section; and a switching section. The activation determination section activates an occupant protection device mounted to a vehicle, when a sensor value from a sensor detecting impact shock applied to the vehicle exceeds a prescribed collision determination threshold value. The acquisition section acquires a vehicle door state. The switching section switches the collision determination threshold value to a prescribed low threshold value corresponding to a normal time threshold value, when the vehicle door state has been acquired in a normal manner by the acquisition section, and the vehicle door state indicates a closed door state, whereas the collision determination threshold value is switched to a prescribed high threshold value which is greater than the low threshold value, when the vehicle door state is not acquired in a normal manner by the acquisition section.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2

    【課題】乗員保護装置の誤起動を防止すること。【解決手段】実施形態に係る衝突検知装置は、起動判定部と、取得部と、切替部とを備える。起動判定部は、車両に加わる衝撃を検出するセンサからのセンサ値が所定の衝突判定閾値を超える場合に、車両に搭載された乗員保護装置を起動させる。取得部は、車両のドアの状態を取得する。切替部は、取得部によって上記状態が正常に取得され、かつ、上記状態がドアの閉状態を示す場合に、衝突判定閾値を通常時の閾値に対応する所定の低閾値へ切り替えるとともに、取得部によって上記状態が正常に取得されない場合に、衝突判定閾値を低閾値よりも大きい所定の高閾値へ切り替える。【選択図】図2
